Hibiscus or Sorrel tea is an herbal tea that’s made by steeping parts of the hibiscus plant in boiling water. As the weather turns colder and winter approaches, a piping hot Hibiscus tea is the perfect way to warm up from the inside out
Sorrel Tea Recipe
Ingredients
- 9 ounces dried Zobo leaves
- 3 teaspoons grated ginger
- 3 strips dried orange zest
- 1 white clove
- 1 quart water
- ⅔ cup of white sugar
- Ice cubes
This measurement serves 4 cups
Directions
- Combine dried Zobo leaves, ginger, orange zest and clove in a bowl
- Boil in a pot of water for about 30 minutes
- Strain the liquid into a tea cup
- You can add honey instead of sugar and drink it hot as tea
- To drink it cold, add the cup of sugar and let it steep for a while (you could leave it for 8 hours or more)
- Serve in a cup with ice and drink chill
